The Novation Launchpad Ableton Live Controller is an 8x8 grid, 64-pad keyboardless MIDI controller for Ableton Live. The 64 pads integrate immediately with Ableton Live and are lit by RGB LEDs that match the color of your clips. The Launchpad integrates immediately and easily with Ableton Live software -- no setup required. Once you get it going, you can use the grid to start and stop loops, arm tracks and control volumes, pans and sends. The Launchpad acts as an extension of the software, removing any further hassle. It's fully USB bus powered and doesn't require a power supply. Plus, the RGB LEDs can produce nearly any color. The pads are designed to always match the color of your clips in Ableton Live's session view.
You can play drums and samples using the grid on this controller. Pads are pre-mapped to Ableton Live's drum rack. The eight vertical rows of pads that make up the grid double over as stepped faders. With them, you can start and stop loops, arm tracks, and control volumes, pans, and sends. The bright and colorful pads of the Launchpad allow you to create light show videos that you can upload to YouTube. The Launchpad works with Max for Live to become a step sequencer, or you can trigger videos from drum pads. Creativity is limitless. You can download and control a continually updated library of Max for Live devices.
The compact size and light weight of the Launchpad makes it easy to simply throw in your bag and carry around. Because it's bus-powered, it will make it through harsh conditions such as travel. Everything you need to start performing is included, such as cables and software. Just install the included software, plug and play.
